Dania Beach began its existence over a century ago in 1880s as Modello beach, which was later renamed to Dania under the influence of the Danish population in the area. The town of Dania Beach is home to numerous antique shops and to Dania Jai Alai, where one can play poker and bet on Jai alia. There is spacious parking at Dania beach, a fishing pier, a few casual restaurants and two large city parks adjacent to Port Everglades.
